Health First Africa (HFA) is a nonprofit organization based in the United States whose primary mission is to support and collaborate with private rural health providers in Africa by providing medicines and other materials needed to promote healthy living conditions in participating communities. Founded in 2003, this organization initially collaborated with the Presbyterian Health Centre in Besongabang (PHCB), Mamfe, Cameroon in West Africa. This small rural health facility serves people for about ten surrounding villages. HFA’s work in those early days was focused on HIV prevention since HIV/AIDS mortality was extremely high disease devastated rural communities across Africa.
Today HFA’s collaboration to evolved in terms of its focus not only in HIV prevention, but to also prevent other maladies such as malaria, and cholera Covid-19. We seek collaboration with individuals and organizations that share our vision of delivering basic healthcare in hard to reach communities across Africa. In most of these communities, clean drinking water is hard to find. Help us meet these needs in rural Africa, where the day to day living conditions are challenging to say the least. We welcome volunteer opportunities and, please donate to support our efforts.
